Only one was a woman. Jessica Tara Sandler, 21, who a prosecutor said also runs an impromptu day care center in her suburban Lake Worth home, became the second one when she was arrested early today. According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's report, the national "Internet Crimes Against Children" task force and a Palm Beach police officer used a file sharing program to download from her computer eight videos showing children being sexually assaulted. The title of one suggested the child in it was four. The task force traced the internet address to Sandler's home. A search found several child pornography video files and Sandler admitted to downloading at least one file, Assistant State Attorney Gregory Schiller said this morning in court. Palm Beach Circuit Judge Krista Marx ordered Sandler held in lieu of $25,000 bond and directed that, if she leaves jail, it be on supervised release. She also ordered Sandler had no access to computers or the Internet and that Sandler have no contact with anyone under the age of 18. "Judge, it should be noted that her 14-year-old cousin lives with her," Assistant Public Defender Marie Calla said. "Not any more," Marx replied. Outside court, a woman who identified herself as Sandler's grandmother, but did not give her name, declined to comment. Calla said Sandler had no previous arrests. Jail records show no arrests under the possession statute before 2004. A review of jail records by The Palm Beach Post indicates only one other woman ever charged: Jessica Wink, then 22, who gave no address, was arrested in 2007. Authorities could not confirm that Wink is the only other woman arrested because jail blotter entries do not include an arrestee's gender. Court records show that charges against Wink later were dropped.
