Some of the areas we see organisation's struggle include: * Not having a system for recording the competency framework. So you can end up with a lack of clarity about who is competent, and difficulties managing quality and reporting on progress. * Providing assessor or internal verifier training that is not practical and leaves the assessors and internal verifiers unsure how to apply the training back in the work place. * Using competence portfolios that are too long, sometimes too short or not focused on the tasks. * Not linking the competency management system to the safety case or safety management system.
