The band consisted of five boys. The band's biggest hit was the 1956 single Why Do Fools Fall in Love. Lymon, who was a heroin addict, died at 25. The Detroit News reported:[Jackson was influenced by] Frankie Lymon: Motown wisely chose material for The Jackson 5 that evoked Lymon and his group, the Teenagers, with Michael's vocals particularly close in spirit and style to the 1950s star. .
