"Positively consistent..." I am a huge fan of the Nandos restaurants since one opened in my local town centre and I am impressed! - The staff are always friendly and helpful (genuinely!) - Food is served quickly yet to a high quality - Great atmosphere The only (small) thing I dislike is that some of the tables are very close together and you can end up being seated side-by-side with a complete stranger even when there are plenty of other tables free... "Great food." Lovely food but the restaurant is not very relaxing, I would go as far to say that it is even stressful! The music is so loud that you have to shout at each other to hear and its very cramped so your always in the way and every one is on top of each other. Definitely a young peoples restaurant. Food is wonderful and they have a great variety of choices. * Chatham, Kent Restaurant name & location * 10 - 25 Average cost per head * Once a month How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * Guest Written on: 13/09/2011 *2*2*2*2*2 Nando's at Euston Station was fantastic "Nando's at Euston Station was fantastic " I have eaten at many Nando restaurants, but I would recommend Nando's at Euston, the staff were friendly and service was fantastic. More often than not you will have to wait, but never more than 10mins, the food is served out quick and piping hot. The service is friendly, and they are always happy to help, even though they are rushed off their feet. Also with it being so busy it has a really lively atmosphere. For the price the food is great, and compared to some of the other eateries in the area, for my money it is the best place. * Euston Train Station Restaurant name & location * 10 - 25 Average cost per head * Once a month How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * Guest Written on: 04/06/2011 *2*1*1*1*1 I had a chicken wrap today, which waa a big wrap with... Nando's is one of those Restaraunts where you expect to receive a quality service and a quality plate of food for what you pay. Unfortunately this isn't the case. If I was aked to sum up Nando's food in a sentence, then i'd hit back with this; Nando's food is just overpriced pub food. Also, Nando's is for people who have no imagination or sense of adventurousness when it comes to food (Mmm, Chicken, how exciting! NOT). The only reason I could recommend someone eating in Nando's is if they are in a hurry to get to the cinema or bowling alley that is no doubt located very near to every Nando's restaurant. * -L-10 - -L-25 Average cost per head * Once or twice a year How often do you eat here? * Family-oriented Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nando's Birstall Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * KOatley Registered since: 14/04/2011 Number of Reviews: 1 Written on: 14/04/2011 *2*1*1*1*1 A complete rip off, virtually no interraction with... Now I'm not against a bit of salad, but this should have been re-named a lettuce wrap (garnished with a sprinkling of chicken). I was a very big fan of Nandos until recently when I noticed how they cheekily began to think of ways to take more money out of the customers. First step- All the plates and bowls were replaced with smaller sizes so as to lessen the portions of food served. Secondly they increased the prices significantly of nearly all the items on their menu . When I asked the cashier about this, she ignorantly replied "Oh these prices are inclusive of the VAT" when the VAT was clearly not added in them! The items were already highly priced before- Nandos should realise with the recession and the VAT increase, now is the worse time to carry out tactics like these. They will eventually lose loyal customers like myself. And if they think no one notices, they are wrong! I do! * Under -L-10 Average cost per head * Once a week How often do you eat here? * Suits all Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos Ilford Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * Getthe facts Registered since: 05/05/2011 Number of Reviews: 0 Getthe Facts's response to Guest's Review Written on: 05/05/2011 I found this review not helpful because... the prices are inclusive of VAT and the portion sizes are the same. I have been going to Nando's since they had their first restaurant in Southern Johannesburg. I have even worked in one 11 years ago in London. The food has gone downhill in my opinion. The livers used to be great and cooked in the proper marinade. The marinade would thicken around the meat and it was amazing to eat with a prego roll. Now it is swimming in a not so pleasant sauce. I don't order it I just make it at home. As for the chicken pieces, if you order quarter chicken and you get the leg bit it hardly has any meat on it in comparison to the breast. They smother it in sauce before serving so you don't get crispy skin like before. The chip portion was rubbish. Looked like I had about seven chips on my plate and they charge -L-1.95 for that. I also ordered the garlic bread and was disgusted. It seemed that they serve it to you from the old prego rolls that are about to go into the bin. Again -L-1.95 for that. The Nata's are delicious but again overpriced for what they are. * -L-10 - -L-25 Average cost per head * Once or twice a year How often do you eat here? * Suits all Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nando's Manchester Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * Guest Written on: 14/11/2010 *2*2*2*2*2 Nando's in Bluewater is great, right next to a cinema... From looking at the place it lookes good and the food smelt nice. Unfortunely the menu was not very clear so placing an order was not straightforward. once we were seated was shocked at dirty, my sleeves kept sticking to the table. When the food came could not believe how small the portions were and quite frankly for the price charged we all found it wuite a shck. The foodwas not that good. The so called "frozen yogurt" tasted like frozen water and the children did eat it. As for the service, that was more half service, everyone helping themselves to cutlury, napkins and all sauces. As for the wash rooms, they were also not very clean. Once again, the food was not at all worth the money. * Under -L-10 Average cost per head * First time How often do you eat here? * Family-oriented Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos, Finchley Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * Guest Written on: 10/09/2010 *2*2*2*2*2 great looking restaurant with friendly staff who asked... great looking restaurant with friendly staff who asked if we had eaten there before and when we said no he was extremely helpful in helping us how to get what we enjoyed. We visited Nandos on a Saturday at 4.30pm and it was fairly busy, we were quickly seated and a high chair brought for our almost one year old son. A waiter asked if we had been there before and explained how the system worked when we said no - we would have to order at the bar then collect our own cutlery and any sauces - strange set up! We perused the (very limited) menu and decided on our order and I proceeded to the till area where I was met with very frosty service - no greeting, smile or anything remotely resembling customer service, the waitress read my order back to me in pigeon English and it all seemed right except she hadn't added my wine, when I dared to suggest she had forgotten I was told that it was my fault and I should have listened when she read my order back to me! I put the service aside and looked forward to the arrival of my food as we had not had time for lunch but when it arrived I would say that disappointed was an understatement - the chicken was supposedley marinated for 24 hours but was in actual fact plain grilled chicken with a sauce of your choice poured over, the chips were macdonalds style fries with less flavour, the salad - a bag of leaves with a couple of cherry tomatoes and four or five tiny peices of red pepper, the 'spicy' rice was plain and boring and the 'macho' peas were dried and tasteless. After having purchased the range of Nandos sauces for many years and creating tasty meals with them I was completely disgusted at the standard of food we received and the level of service was appalling, I have complained to Nandos and am awaiting their response but I will NEVER be eating there again! * -L-10 - -L-25 Average cost per head * First time How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos, Elephant and Castle, London Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * * Comments (1) HereHareHere Registered since: 03/04/2008 Number of Reviews: 11 Written on: 19/06/2010 *2*1*1*1*1 A friend and I went to Nandos on her recommendation as... A friend and I went to Nandos on her recommendation as she had been there before. I wasn't keen as I realised it was a chain which usually means mediocre, overpriced food. The food at Nandos wasn't mediocre, it was atrocious. The menu is limited, littered with silly, incomprehensible Americanisms and abbreviations and consists mainly of chicken, which you have to queue to order school canteen-style, then choose a bottle of chilli sauce to drizzle on the food when it arrives. I ordered something described as a marinated steak which bore no resemblance to any kind of steak I have ever cooked or eaten in my entire life. It was a slab of pale grey processed stuff served in a dry bun with a miniscule portion of bone-dry microwaved 'fries'. Basically, it was inedible and I had to leave it after two mouthfuls. There was no point in complaining since, as is so often the case with these types of establishment, the staff consisted of a gaggle of teenagers who were more intent on chatting and messing about than serving. None of them had a clue about the 'food' they were serving and requests for recommendations were met with a blank stare and a shrug. The cost of this meal was around -L-15 including a very small glass of lukewarm wine. To sum up, it was the kind of stuff that McDonalds or Burger King serve up, except not as good and at vastly inflated prices. I would absolutely not recommend Nandos to anyone at all, unless you know nothing about food, enjoy wasting your money and have no tastebuds. * -L-10 - -L-25 Average cost per head * First time How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos Market Place Derby Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * golcarlilly Registered since: 28/07/2008 Number of Reviews: 2 Golcarlilly's response to HereHareHere's Review Written on: 08/08/2010 I found this review very helpful because... Nando's standards have fallen a lot since I stared eating there. The quantity of food is ridiculous to say the least, you'll be lucky to get 10 chips on your plate and unless you ask for a specific cut of meat with your order you will probably end up with a leg with about 10 grams of meat on it! The prices are also very high for what you get! Atmosphere-wise it's not bad, it has a very unique style and the inventive slogans on the staff's uniforms can be quite amusing. The sauces are what make the whole experience worthwhile. I was at the Bristol Cabot Circus venue of Nandos with my fianc e ther other week. Basically, I bit into a spoonful of coleslaw and something metallic crunched into one of my fillings. At first I thought it could be a bit of chicken bone, but it turned out to be a rusty link of chain presumably off of a necklace. We alerted the management and weren't offered a refund, which I must admit I found surprising. I thought we deserved some gesture to compensate us for an extremely disappointing dining experience. I will say that I was offered a replacement coleslaw. But I didn't fancy eating anything else that came from what could potentially be a contaminated batch. The food tasted okay, chips were very average frozen school dinner style fare though. The chicken did have a nice flavour, but I knew it wasn't particularly good quality. I am a lowly farmer who has emigrated from Ghana, and has found himself living in the mad bustle of a buzzing metropolis such as Bromley. At first the shock of moving from the sparsely habited savannah to the urban jungle of greater London was daunting, and required many lessons (twice I had my spear taken from me while walking down the street, often my tribal headdress would get caught in the doors of buses, and I found that my leopard skin loin cloth was both too revealing and not well suited to the bitter chills of a British winter), however it was while learning a few of these lessons that I found refuge in Nandos Bromley, after being chased there by some animal rights activists who were offended by leopard skin, and that I had typically bathed in the blood of a gazelle that very morning (it is the only way to ensure my afro remains springy and light). Nandos Bromley shone like a beacon, a glorious haven brightly guiding my way to salvation. The food surpassed anything I have ever eaten before, the feeling of the delicious peri peri ignighting my food buds and opening my eyes to experiences I never before believed possible. I often order the chicken burger or pitta (spice level - medium or hot) and these are always enjoyable. I have ordered the chicken wrap and found it was nice, but fairly average. The prego steak roll is also nice for a change. The only thing that is lacking in the whole of Nando's chain is that their portions are of small - average size. Visited the Xscape Castleford Nando's recently before going to the cinema. Was presented with menu then asked to place order and pay before receiving the food. ( Unusual system, but soon found out why.) My chicken offering consisted of 4 rubbery strips of bland meat in a pitta about the size of a jewel case, with a tiny circular dish ( about 4" x 1.5" ) of rice. I called for the manager who approached in full belligerent fashion and when I accused his restaurant of serving up a "saucer" full of rice, seemed more concerned with enlightening me that the dish was actually a ramekin. When he began disdainfully asking me "what I expected him to do" and informing me that the portion sizes were determined as chain policy, I decided that this would be my first and last ever visit to a Nando's restaurant. Small wonder they ask you to pay first. Having got your money they can then dismiss any complaints out of hand. Interestingly, when we left, Nando's had less than a dozen customers while the ASK next door ( where we would normally eat, but decided to try Nando's for a change ) had about 60 diners. Enough said. * Under -L-10 Average cost per head * First time How often do you eat here? * Family-oriented Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nando's X scape Castleford Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * See next 10 reviews Showing 21 - 30 of 71 Reviews Guest Written on: 31/12/2009 *2*1*1*1*1 Terrible experience. No sangria, asked manager Richard if he can mix us one up, he refused and he couldn`t have been less helpful. They charge way too much, they don't supply napkins and since the food is messy, which is not a problem in itself, they should at least give napkins. We don't like that it's so expensive, portions are very small for what one pays for. They were sufficient and friendly enough, which is great. We feel, when you order say, a chicken burger, the side orders should be free. They have this "sweet potato mash", which you pay -L-2.80 for about 4 spoonfuls, if you go to the market, you can get an entire bag of yams for a quid and make it yourself. It's cheaper to make and guaranteed to taste a lot better. All they need to do is change a few things which would draw more people in. We'd go more than once a year if they made these changes mentioned. * -L-10 - -L-25 Average cost per head * Once or twice a year How often do you eat here? * Family-oriented Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nando's in Southport, UK Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * sammy70 Registered since: 11/07/2009 Number of Reviews: 1 Written on: 11/07/2009 *2*2*1*1*1 Went to our usual Nandos at southside shopping centre... I recently visited the London Bridge branch of Nandos and thought I would share my latest bad experience there.A staff member treated me with what I can only describe as sheer contempt. Her tone and her body language was utterly dismissive and her hostility was virtually palpable.I was barked at throughout the order-taking. For example, upon asking for a side of chips she was apparently annoyed I didn't specify my spiciness requirements.I asked her if it would be possible to transfer signatures from my tattered loyalty card to a new one - but I was given no response. I asked a second time, thinking I may not have been heard. Then a third time, taking great care to be gentle and polite. After my third request C broke her silence to bark "I heard you the first time." Struggling to keep my calm, I gently asked why she had not responded. With a look of petrifying disgust she said "I went like this" and nodded her head. If she did, it was unperceivable. At this point I somewhat lost my cool, and asked her if I had done anything to offend her. She offered: "It's not you," before proceeding to ignore my request!I sent an abridged complaint to Nandos via their online form but have not heard anything for days.My questions to them are:Why is C venting her frustrations on customers? Is she under pressure from higher powers not to give away free chicken i.e. is the loyalty card a scam?Does she just not like the look of me? Are the staff openly prejudist?Did she feel she could treat me like one of their battery chickens, without fear of repercussion? Does the Clink Street branch make enough money so that she need not serve the customer with even a fake smile?Needless to say, there was no apology. Rather bewildered by the whole event, I collected my takeaway and left. A friend later suggested that I should have openly lost my cool and made a scene. In retrospect, I certainly should have, there were many customers behind me in the queue. This is not my first experience of disagreeable attitude at this branch and my friends describe similar events. We have been loyal to the branch since it opened and we do enjoy the food and decor. However we have grown to question our continuing custom, and are considering ways to spread the word about the bad attitude.I have many times witnessed this disregard for politeness and I reckon there are sufficient numbers of dissatisfied customers to help me in my campaign, but a feeling of powerlessness prevents many from speaking up.How have your experiences been regarding service, particularly at this branch? * Once a month How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos Clink Street Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * See next 10 reviews Showing 31 - 40 of 71 Reviews Guest Written on: 20/04/2009 *1*1*1*1*1 When I went to the restaurant the staff just took the... When I went to the restaurant the staff just took the mickey out of my food. It seemed busy so I didn't want to complain so i just asked one of the staff about how long is it gonna take for my food. Its been 30 mins already the cashier told me it takes 10 mins, she then replied to me 'everyone's waiting so just wait' and then she left. After another 20 mins I asked another staff member about my food he replied 'i dont know' and left. So i felt stupid, didn't know whats exactly happening , i then went up to the bar and ask to speak to a manager. Speaking with the Nandos manager, I let her know what happened and asking how more long is it gonna take, its been like an hour. She said (if i don't like the service then go to another restaurant innit) these are the exact words she said and i also noted her name. * First time How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * nandos spitalfields Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * * Comments (1) csutton Written on: 10/03/2009 *2*2*2*2*2 Nandos is an excellent place to meet up with friends,... I live in West Hampstead in London and tend to go to my local Nandos for lunch with work friends. We've always found the food very good and can easily be served and finish our meal within the hour lunch break whilst not feeling rushed. I can't find fault with the West Hampstead branch. However a couple of weeks ago my partner and I were in Finchley Road o2 centre and noticed they have a Nandos. Feeling hungry we popped in. First we noticed the restaurant isn't as nicely laid out as the Hampstead branch. It feels much narrower and packed in. But, with it being placed inside a shopping centre, I guess space is more restricted. The staff were nice enough, but didn't seem to care as much, When the food came we were disappointed. The chicken at our regular branch is always top notch, juicy, tender and delicious. Here it seemed very dry and there didn't seem to be as much of it. Although I can't say the experience was bad, if it had been my first time at a Nandos, I probably wouldn't have given it another shot. * Once a month How often do you eat here? * Family-oriented Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos (Wes hampstead & Finchley Road) Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * londontake Registered since: 08/05/2009 Number of Reviews: 1 Londontake's response to Angels Sin's Review Written on: 18/05/2009 I feel that you, like myself, have given a higher Score due to your previous experiences at Nandos. When attempting to complain about this I have been told that I should have kept my receipt on the take-away. No matter how many times I try to explain that short of opening all food bags at the counter I don't know until I get home that it is inedible and then I don't know what to do. I tried Nando's for the first time last week in Birmingham. Good smiley welcome, nice environment, good choice, easy to follow menu, decent glass of wine and very quick service. I had the extra hot chicken with garlic bread and coleslaw as I thought if the sauce ('only for the brave') really was that hot I'd need something to help cool me down. The chicken was tender, moist and juicy but the sauce was not as hot as I was craving for. The coleslaw was fine but the garlic bread was disappointing. It appeared to be a bread roll, cut in half and toasted and spread with garlic butter. All expenses spared! I was expecting something a little more interesting and certainly more moist than a cheap white bread roll. I was impressed that additional sauces were available in large quantities and I added more hot sauce but still felt it lacked a piri-piri type hit. All together it was fine and I'd go again - and very affordable (under -L-10 with a glass of wine). My only real criticisms are of the garlic bread (shan't bother again) and that if a sauce promises to be frighteningly hot - it needs to be! * First time How often do you eat here? * Suits all Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nandos, Birmingham Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * StarvinMarvin Registered since: 11/06/2009 Number of Reviews: 0 Starvinmarvin's response to Welsh Foodie's Review Written on: 11/06/2009 I have always loved Nandos. I was attracted to Nando's being a bit of a foody and excited by this potential authentic Portuguese eating experience. The exterior of the restaurant looked appealing; the Portuguese cockerel, the logo for Nando's insinuated an awareness of traditional Portugal, so in I went. We were seated by a friendly waitress, the drink spillage on the table seeming to evade her vision. We were given the Nando's debriefing of 'have you been to Nando's before?' where we had explained to us that we must collect our own cutlery and sauces and order our food at the bar area, where once cooked the food would be delivered to us. This self service seemed rather more a way of the staff cutting back on work rather than a quaint little feature. I ordered a double chicken fillet burger, hot (there was the option to choose the heat level of the spice), my companion a piece of piri piri chicken and a green salad, described seemingly deceptively as fresh and encaptivating, or words to those effect. The menu could talk the talk. The salad infact appeared to be full of wilted outer leaves, day old red pepper and rotten radish. When asked to replace the salad, the waitress (different this time) apparently grumpily hurried the salad away, replacing it in near an instant with an identical salad. It was surprising when asked for a refund the unquestioning willingness of the staff member to refund the salad. The chicken burger I received looked reasonably presentable. On taste, the heat rating I had chosen [hot] lived up to it's description. Although it was far too hot for my pallette, the sauce was actually quite nice, lime being the predominant flavour. The chicken fillet itself was dry and run of the mill, not what I'd have expected from a restaurant with such traditional implications where, In my opinion, the quality of chicken would be of highest priority. I feel this restaurant is a bit of an Insult to Portugese food, the niche for this type of dining filled by such, in my opinion, a shoddy restaurant. The restaurant I visited was in the centre of Guildford. A lovely, friendly town so I'm finding it hard to put this terrible eating experience down to a bad branch of Nando's. The food was edible for me, in my opinion one of the restaurants biggest faults is disguising itself as a much better place than it is. * First time How often do you eat here? * Lively Atmosphere * Quality of service * Quality of food * Value For Money * Nando's, Guildford Restaurant name & location Read more Report this review Write your own review Comment on this review * * * SunnyByfleet Registered since: 12/08/2007 Number of Reviews: 8 Sunnybyfleet's response to aaadddaaaddd's Review Written on: 19/01/2010 I found this review not helpful because I've been to the Guildford Nandos many times and it is lovely.
