Bet you didn't expect to see me again this soon! haha I am full of surprises today...and I wanna give you a peep at what Emily {Stamping Bella} has in store for all of us Lulu fans... Her name is Martha...DSC03667 isn't she pretty!! Now who wouldn't want to be a princess if you looked like her. {This so could have worked for last weeks BellaRIFFIC friday challenge too...look at all them there dots.} I started by stampin' my new Lulu on Bella's bestest paper, colored with my prismacolor pencils and then attacked it with my clear glaze pen, black glaze pen, black glitter, Glamour Dust glitter ...whew, by the time it all dried and was ready to put together...I was ready for bed-e-bye. {I can honestly say I have never spelled that word out before...or have seen it spelled out?} My inspiration came from my newest paper members of my stash family. It was a polka-dotty piece from American Crafts, called Adobe. Bella had lots in the store and I went nuts. ohhhh, to be in a store when the fresh paper rolls in from the CHA shows. I liked the idea of using some more un-traditional color combos, and very heavy on the brown side...they even put some yellow in there. haha Some of the other Babe's have been showing off *new* images and I had no idea there was a new Turtle Tot!! Joannehas that to show you, and what a nice surprise! Don't forget, send Emily your bestsest Bella card and join us for another BellaRIFFIC friday! Deadline for card entries is usually thursday evening, emily@stampingbella.com see ya!! Posted at 12:00 AM | Permalink | Comments (10) | TrackBack (0) March 09, 2010 getting older... ain't for sissies, so says Bette Davis... and she should have known right! lol DSC03665_edited-1 Tonight we went to dinner...my sisters family and her bff {who is now MY new bff} and her family. Now my sisters bff has two younger boys... I had fun entertaining them, or was it they entertained ME? haha So I gave my sister this card, which I thought she might appreciate for the humor...and I added some of Emily's HAPPY tape! DSC03666_edited-1 When I was in the store a few weeks ago, it was down to two packs of tape left. This one and another just like it...I took this one, haha I do like purple, even though it can be hard to work with when matching paper up. Have the paper first and color according to that, or chances are your purple image won't match a single piece of purple paper in your stash. It always happens to me!! The image is 'borrowed' from Emily's private stash. Yes, I was able to see what excited the Bella...way back when. Art Impressions images musta did the trick, because she had a large selection and I brought them home to stamp off. {I think they were dyin' for some fresh ink!} Aren't they are funny & qwerky {I know that's spelled wrong} and maybe not for everyone. I guess that's why I thought my sister would appreciate it! hmmmm, I don't know if she did. Now I need to get working showing off a new image coming on friday...see you very soon! Posted at 09:10 PM | Permalink | Comments (4) | TrackBack (0) March 07, 2010 i {heart} sunday... Welcome to the sunday-and-paula's-sore-from-painting edition! What does that mean...well, I am gonna show you something that is going on my new Martha Stewart colored "ganache" walls. {it will replace a beloved "painting" from IKEA, how could I possibly do that..I know!} DSC03661 Just trying to get a decent picture of this was crazy. I had to put it on the floor and put the camera between my legs. {see it in the reflection?} That is the reason why brown colored walls are not an issue in my house. I live in a mobile home, and have tons of light from the windows & skylights. This art work was inspired by Ali Edwards! I have followed her for years, back when I was scrapbooking, she was a favorite of mine. I LOVE her handwriting!! If you click HERE you can see her original art work from her blog. Now, the BIG confession is that I copied this one, from Emily's punched hearts! LOL When I got to her place last week, and walked into her kitchen... two of these were on her counter. She made one as a gift and one for herself. I don't think she has taken a pic of hers yet and shared on her blog...again, I fell in love with it. {isn't it nice to have the thinking all figured out!} Some of my hearts are popped up with dimensionals, and the others are applied with Emily's other latest find, the Coccoina glue stick. {**warning** you will want to eat this glue stick when you smell it} My frame came from Michael's and then I bought a brown mat to go inside. The opening, where the hearts are is 8"x11". The hearts are punched out with Martha Stewarts craft punch. Posted at 07:18 PM | Permalink | Comments (4) | TrackBack (0) March 05, 2010 whoooo loves you baby.... nope, paula is still not caught up with "life" and here is my slightly late BellaRIFFIC friday post. Geesh, I am a gluton for punishment too because I am fixin' to paint my livingroom and hallway in a gorjuss shade of brown. Yeah, that and I gotta make time to work on some *NEW* release images from Stamping Bella!! woohoo You heard me right friends, Emily has some new rubber up her sleeve and it will be unleashed next friday. Lets finish up this week with a peek at what I did for the subtle "polka-dotty challenge", shall we? DSC03655 I used Baboo's owl, I colored him last weekend at Emily's. I had been eyeing him for some time now, and I always thought...next time, next time. Next time arrived and I stamped Baboo out {on Bella's bestest paper, of course!}and waited for his time to be colored. {don't ask, it sounds odd, I just color by mood, lol} Baboo got tucked away into my supply bin and headed for a journey, to see Bellaland. In my mind I had thought greens and browns, I really wanted to use this piece of new Cosmo Cricket paper. While Emily played with her encaustic {google it!} waxy stuff, I watched and safely colored, across the table. Baboo came to life with my prismacolor pencils and I even dared to risk my coloring with an added branch. I colored the sky in with muted turqouise and added white dots {with a white glaze pen} and glitter. Now, I kept my dots subtle, but WOW! the sistahood has gone wild with dots, spots and circles. Just in case you have not seen our fab-u-luss line-up, check out Emily's blog...HERE. There are more and more new names popping up and joining the fun, so how about another challenge for next week that is as easy as eating pie! It's a release day next friday, so all the Bella wants to see is your most bestest work, with a Bella stamp. Is there something you been itchin' to get to? Maybe just somethin' you have colored and wanna try a different color scheme?? Come on and join us. Us Babe's, we'll be showing off all the newest rubber! ok, did I mention I am prepping to paint...oh, yeah, I better het to removing the dust bunnies that were hiding around a few pictures. Does the maid think I will never find them? adios! Posted at 08:17 PM | Permalink | Comments (5) | TrackBack (0) March 03, 2010 bikbabeabella birthday wishes... I'm baaaaack! {to coin a certain talented man from The Shining} Have you ever spent a day or two in Bellaland? It leaves me all wound up and feeling crafty, until I get home and sit down for a second! LOL The excitement catches up with me and I feel like I wanna get everything done at once, but I still have not unpacked my "toy" bag yet. {will be getting to that after this post and dinner} New rubber, paper and other goodies need to see their new home. ohhhh paper, get ready for the onslaught of Crate Paper's newest lines...I bought it all at Bella!! So, the trip was a very happy one, in case you can't tell. I had so much fun with my host family {Emily, Ryan, Tyler & Jayden} and I didn't reallllly wanna come home. {although, it's a little quieter here at my house, minus small children...LOL} I learned a little about Purim, and listened to Emily and the kids sing the Canadian anthem. I just had to be an American in Canada for the winning of the gold in hockey! Before I took off, I was working on a birthday card for one of the Bella Babes...Jeanie! I wish I could have got it mailed on time, but hey...better late than never right? DSC03654 I have told ya'll about talking on Skype, right? Linda and I get connected with each other and color together, over the airwaves. It's NOT as good as being there in person, but it's fun. When we both color, there is not too much talking, it's more like lots of silence and then the occasional flash on the screen of what the other is doing. Well I hooked up with Jeanie on Super Bowl Sunday, while the men folk were watching football. Eventually this lead to a 3-way between Linda, Jeanie and myself. With a three person setup ya don't get video though...it was just all of us talking. Guess what I learned on this day? Ms. Jeaniebella's hubby owns a Harley! The "chicken", as we loving call her, is a biker BABE!!! Naturally I needed to pull out bikbabeabella!! {my first time coloring} I used the Oh La La, from My Minds Eye as the inspiration paper and tried to NOT use aqua again! I am in such a rut with that color, and don't know why. It took me a long time to color this up, like two hours. For me, that's long, but I needed to really think, and decide what color to color what. I mean, I am not a biker and I didn't want to color bike gears, and chrome in green. Then there was the whole thing with that empty space between the parts...I had to color it in. Now, I colored it all in dark green and it looked flat...pancake flat! I had a moment flash past me that I may have ruined it...but I took my stump and added gamsol and removed the dark green in the centers of all the areas. I now see depth and I LOVE it!!! It looks better than I had hoped. {I think Jeanie will like it too} I added so much dimension on here too, but the photo may not be picking it up. On the green areas I used my clear glaze pen, for shine. The chrome go a nice layer of Tim Holtz's glossy accents. Now, I asked Jeanie, aka "chicken", what kind of biker duds she wore, lets hope she has some sexy jeans with glittah! woohoo!! Happy belated Birthday Jeaniebella! Ride safe. Now for some other Bella business... I had to ask what our challenge was for this friday, like in TWO days, friday. We are going polka dotty and we want you along for te ride. Dots are still so "in" and it's a simple little challenge. So join me in making a card {tonight!!} and emailing it to the Bella. I hope you have all caught this late news on the othe Babe's blogs, I don't wanna get fired! hehe see ya real soon :) Posted at 05:41 PM | Permalink | Comments (12) | TrackBack (0) February 28, 2010 happy birthday... to my dad {yesterday} and to Jeaniebella/the chicken {today}! I have a card in the works for Jeanie, but my dad got a card from one of my other fav companies/artists...Anna Wight from Whippersnapper Designs. Have I told you that I have a small thing for barnyard animals, LOL!! Now my family is not a Ford family, my dad worked for Cadillac, and walked to work every day. I love this image so much, I won't hold the Ford emblem against it! hehe DSC03653 This car is not pink, by the way. I was asked this by my friend...I was like, is that how it will come across on the computer!? I guess it is a different shade of red, isn't it... This is colored with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I didn't add glitter, but I used my Ranger Glossy Accents on the headlights and Ford emblem. This stuff is just so awesome, thick & crystal clear! I think the paper is Cosmo Cricket? Maybe it was October Afternoon? I am gonna need to look for that scrap of paper...it drives me a little crazy when I don't remember. Hope you are all having a fun weekend and see ya when I get back from Toronto!! ...adios Posted at 12:00 AM | Permalink | Comments (13) | TrackBack (0) February 26, 2010 go team bella... Happy BellaRIFFIC {snowy?} friday!!! wooHOO! Now normally I wouldn't be concerned about if it was falling white stuff from above, but this sister is making her way to Toronto at 11:30 or so today and I am hoping to miss the snow. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I have some major coloring to share & teach... ...now, as Mickey Mouse would say..."on with the show!" The Olympics have inspired the Babe's & our challenge was given to us, winter sports.DSC03651 Now, if ya didn't have something to use for this sporty theme, you could do a winter theme as well. I happened to have hockeymomabella. Was I lucky or what! I have had her {mostly} colored for a couple weeks, but I needed to finish her up this week and I had no idea how she would turn out. I was working and mulling a layout over and then it just came to me, because I wanted to personalize her bag & jersey. Why not "team BELLA"? I bet you would be hard pressed to find a hockey mom as snazzy as this sistah. I started by stamping out my bella on Bella's bestest paper and coloring with my prismacolor pencils. I had my paper, from Memory Box, picked out and ready to inspire me. I wanted "wintery" & brown...I LOVE how these two go together, don't you? Brown is the new color to go with anything! I added glitter, white dots {made with a white souffle pen} and I used my trusty .005 pen for the personalized name and #1 on the jersey. What do ya think of my new font from Sizzix? It's called Wingo Zingo and these are fast becoming addictive to me. I found it at Archivers and just happened to have a 30% off coupon in my pocket! score... Get on over to Emily's blog and see what has inspired the other Babe's and the sistahood gallery. There are always new names joining us in the fun, and there is no reason you can't as well! :) Well, I still need to make sure I am fully packed and my stuff is all gathered in one spot. Leaving for work at 6:30 a.m. could cause me to forget something, and I don't wanna have to come back to the house. See ya later peeps!! Posted at 12:00 AM | Permalink | Comments (10) | TrackBack (0) February 23, 2010 remember duran duran's... ...hungry like the wolf, well that is me tonight sister! Yowza, I have not said anything on here, but I went back to Weight Watchers. Why did I fall off the wagon? I did so good the last time! But I'm saddled up and ready to roll, but if ya ever followed this program, then you count points & ya gotta eat your points. I think I have not been following that to a "T" and kinda been hungry this past week. Today I came home to cut Jim's hair and now do this{my post}, while I am eating...I am that hungry! lol oooh, and I love a cold glass of milk {skim of course} to go along with dinner. Somehow milk really does fill me up. Since we are on the food subject, how about a card that actaully ties in pretty well! How did that work out?DSC03649 Amplee 'tude is colored with copics and another image I colored in Lindabella's class in October. Linda and I use Bella's bestest paper for our 'students', so that is what my 'tude girl is stamped on. I added all my finishing touches here at home, glitter and clear glaze pen. The color surrounding my girl is done with pencils though, I would have a small hissy fit if after all my copic coloring, I messed up my outsides. I used some very summer paper for this, since it looks summery...I used my 6x6 pad of Lemonade from Basic Grey. {it is just yummy!} Now that purty bow there was compliments of some awesome ribbon I bought at Michael's last year. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they carry this again this year in the bridal area. For me, this bow could be in the bow makers Hall of Fame. haha, yeah, I am that pleased with it. Now notice that yours truely did not put a sentiment on this and *whew* I am glad I didn't. I just got asked today for a card for someone who is getting a surprise care package from home..Girl Scout Cookies! How "sweet" did this work out!! Hehe ok peeps, I am outta here because the colorer never rests...my dad's birthday is coming up on saturday and I am working on that right now... peace out! Posted at 05:33 PM | Permalink | Comments (10) | TrackBack (0) February 22, 2010 it's monday... A while back I was linking up my post so that you could link to one of Stamping Bella's artists Christy Croll. She is the chica who draws the huggabuggs and now the newest lines she has are the Izzie & the mouse couple Eunice & Irving. While I was doing this, I saw that there were cards made using some images that I had not seen...how could this be? DSC03646 Sure enough, there was some digi images and I had to have them! This is the first one I colored and I gave it to friend at work who seemed a little quiet this week, and I though she could use a card and a flower. Happy Bugg is printed on Bella's bestest paper and colored with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. {fyi, My printer is an Epson and I have no issues with smearing.} I used some paper from My Minds Eye, sent to me from a friend...{Hi Sylvia!!} and I used Martha's loopy punch on the bottom. The cupcake comes with black dots on the top, and I switched those "sprinkles" to white, using my liquid applique pen & some glitter. Well, this sister is just about finished getting ready for her visit to Toronto..woohoo!! Have a great day and keep on colorin'! Posted at 12:00 AM | Permalink | Comments (9) | TrackBack (0) February 21, 2010 ...here comes baby Hope you are all having a sunny day! I am, except for the cold hands & feet...LOL Sun, yeah! warm..NO! Ok, with my lower half bundled in a blanket I am ready to show you two versions of the Stamping Bella's KETTO clothesline, that I did for this week. We have a "daddy in re-training" at Flushmate, and then I made a card for a little boy baby shower. But first, here's Bryan our expectant father!IMG_0679 Bryan and his wife Mylie (sp) have two boys (14 &10) already and a little girl should arrive within a month. Obviously, we figured that Bryan was lacking in the "PINK" dept, and needed a little surprise on wednesday morning. He had no idea. Bryan works in the lab, and it's been called the 'fish bowl' since it has windows all around except for one very short wall. IMG_0677 Three of us only managed very little pink decorating, because time was short, but I had dreams of how I would have done it, had we had the time. EVERYTHING would have been wrapped in pink, including the desk! haha My peeps, Dana and Jessica started on the inside, while I prettied up the outside window, which is on the shop floor.IMG_0678 It was a princess's dream come true! The pink sign I hung outside on the floor said "Daddy re-training in Progress". I told Bryan to make sure that went home with him in case he needs a beer and his better-half gives him a hard time. :) He will need something in another 14 years when he is shooing the boys away from his house. Can't wait to meet Elizabeth Rose when she makes her debut. Bryan left with lots of sweet baby girl clothes, a crocheted blanket and a couple of bouncy seats. Here's the card I made using the KETTO clothesline and the Baby Lingerie. DSC03641I could not get enough pink on here, LOL I also decided that I didn't want any patterned paper either. Pink/brown and glitter. Then, I stamped this out at the same time because I had to pull out my stamp-a-ma-jig...and made a boy card.DSC03644 It KILLED me to put this in a clear envelope and flatten that bow out a little. Now, as with everything I do..the more I do it and it changes, the better I like it. And this was only the very next day! On the boy card...do you see how I added the halo of color around the little black dots in the flower areas? I wanted some colorful flowers, but it was too sparse with just the few I actually colored, so I made little colorful puffs. I got the little bunches of color I wanted and I love the effect! I teach this in class for huggabugg antennae and Christmas lights, candles...gives a nice glow. Well, I hope you are inspired to pull out that clothesline and give it some lovin'. I am gonna wash mine up and make some more... Plus, I need to get my dad's birthday card made and my card for BellaRIFFIC friday... don't forget! It's winter/winter sports themed. see ya soon, love, paula :) Posted at 11:55 AM | Permalink | Comments (11) | TrackBack (0) Next >> questions * IFrame: cboxmain IFrame: cboxform who I design for * * [IMG] * Bella BABES * Dana White * Emily * Jeanie Witmer * Joanne Basile * Jodi Collins * Karen Motz * Linda Heavens * Meahni Pieterse * Paula Williamson *that's me!* blogs I check out * anna wight * bakerella * charlene austin * copic creations * debbie olson * deborah southard * heather nichols * janine tinklenberg * lisa johnson * michelle wooderson * nichole heady * rachel hope baird * shannon bracken * taylor vanbruggen Blog powered by TypePad Member since 11/2007 Add me to your TypePad People list Your email address: _____________________ [ Get email updates ] Powered by FeedBlitz Quantcast
