In addition, the program fosters a commitment to the protection and understanding of the environment and community. The programs are aligned with the California Science Content Standards and the California Science Framework to ensure that teachers' curricular needs are met. Fourth Grade Rockin' Geology! Students learn about different kinds of rocks and their formation through interactive hands-on lab stations that let them touch and experiment with a variety of rocks and minerals. California Science Content Standards: 4a, 4b, 5a, 6a, 6b, 6f What's for Lunch? Students learn about food chains and the interrelationships of plants and animals. They compare the roles of producers and consumers through outdoor games and experience live representatives of each. California Science Content Standards: 2a, 2b, 2c, 6c, 6d Magnets are Magnificent! Magnetism magic is demystified as students investigate electromagnetic motors and magnets and contrast a compass at lab stations. California Science Content Standards: 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f, 6a, 6c, 6d, 6f All Grades Amazing Animals Live animals are presented to you and your students by our trained Traveling Scientist. Learn about the unique characteristics and behaviors of mammals, reptiles, birds, and other species of the animal kingdom. Birds of Prey Hawks, owls, and other raptors are brought into the classroom to teach students about the roles these predators play in the balance of nature. Students visit lab stations which include experiencing hawk vision and discovering the diet of an owl through an owl pellet dissection. We work with your school schedule!
