Chances are you may have seen this stuff before but I am putting it up if for nothing else to have a source with links I can come back to in case some moonbat starts pulling Obama's pud in conversations with me. This sort of crap was taking place a couple of weeks ago and is still going on: whenever a commercial or ad is shown which Obama and his minions deems "offensive" they launch a huge campaign targeting the people responsible for airing it. Case in point: the NRA ads being run in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The controversy began last week after the NRA, a defender of the Second Amendment, began airing political ads accusing Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama of wanting to ban certain guns and put a tax on others. According to the Obama campaign, the ad (one of a series) makes numerous false statements and misinformed the public, and therefore they should not be aired. "The advertisement knowingly misleads your viewing audience about Senator Obama's position on the Second Amendment," wrote Robert Bauer, general counsel to the Obama campaign in a letter dated Sept. 23 to various TV stations in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The NRA responded with: "The legislative and policy record of candidates and officeholders such as Barack Obama are well known and documented by the NRA on an ongoing basis," said the letter to station managers from NRA counsel Cleta Mitchell. "Accordingly, we respectfully request that your station disregard the shamefully false assertions from the Obama campaign and its attorneys regarding the NRA-PVF ads and that the ads run in accordance with the purchases made by NRA-PVF in the media buy." The fact is, Obama DOES want to take away your guns. He said so himself. Remember what I posted here? A woman in the crowd told Obama she had "heard a rumor" that he might be planning some sort of gun ban upon being elected president. Obama trotted out his standard policy stance, that he had a deep respect for the "traditions of gun ownership" but favored measures in big cities to keep guns out of the hands of "gang bangers and drug dealers'' in big cities "who already have them and are shooting people." "If you've got a gun in your house, I'm not taking it,'' Obama said. But the Illinois senator could still see skeptics in the crowd, particularly on the faces of several men at the back of the room. So he tried again. "Even if I want to take them away, I don't have the votes in Congress,'' he said. "This can't be the reason not to vote for me. Can everyone hear me in the back? I see a couple of sportsmen back there. I'm not going to take away your guns.'' Yeah, because he CAN'T. It does not mean he wouldn't if he could. So what we have here is an ad that does not lie but is targeted because Barack doesn't like it. Remind you of brownshirts? And you know it. redblue And who can forget the Nazi-like tactics of the goon squads in Missouri that, using the offices of the Circuit Attorneys to silence anyone who says anything THEY think is bad against Barack Obama. obama Barack Obama is now using local law enforcement officials to carry out his campaign of legal intimidation by assembling a group of high-ranking Missouri police officials and prosecutors - including St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce - to identify and target anyone the campaign determines is producing "misleading" political advertisements. "This is an outrageous and shocking attempt by the Obama campaign to again employ Stalinist, police state tactics against those who dare to disagree with Barack Obama," said Ed Martin, American Issues Projects president. "I am frankly stunned to see public officials like McCullough and Joyce abusing their official prosecutorial positions to serve as attack dogs for a national political campaign. I am quite certain Missourians elected these individuals to enforce the laws and arrest criminals, not to throw people in jail for daring to practicing free speech. "The Obama campaign continues to provide a chilling preview of what would happen to political freedom in an Obama administration." These attorneys were to go after anyone who lied or misled. But what is the definition of a "lie" to a democrat? Over and over again we've seen that the definition is loosely structured to include anything they don't like. How about all the viral email attacks engaged in by Obama backers which attempted to smear Palin? Here are some of them. All debunked. Fact: During her gubernatorial race in 2006, she endorsed the bridge but as governor rejected it, allocating the federal earmark money elsewhere. Meanwhile, in 2005, Barack Obama voted against a Senate amendment to stop funding for the project. Myth: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin banned nearly 100 books, including "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," and "Death of a Salesman." Fact: Palin never banned any books. An emailed list of books she supposedly banned included Harry Potter books that had not yet been published when she was in office. Myth: Palin fired her public safety commissioner because he would not terminate a trooper who was her former brother-in-law after he had been suspended for five days for misconduct. Fact: Palin did want Walt Monegan to fire her former brother-in-law. But extensive emails from Palin and her aides show she was upset with him because he repeatedly defied her instructions on a string of budget requests. When these people came out in their official capacity, they put the power of their offices behind what they were saying.
